How we work

Lots of agencies use metaphors to describe their model. We prefer to simply describe how we work.

There’s an old saying that genius is one per cent inspiration and 99 per cent perspiration. Good ideas are about hard work. And a clear working method. That’s why we work in accordance with a tried and true process. A tool that helps us here at Deasign, but also facilitates for our clients. It should be easy to understand the process and to see how we work. This way, the client never feels shut out of a project, never wonders what are the reasons for the various steps. Here is a description of the process.

Know

Veta

Here the strategy is laid down. We find out everything that we could ever need to know ahead of the assignment. The client clarifies visions, strategies and objectives. We investigate the background, competition, strengths and weaknesses. What is it we’re solving? And we analyze the target group. Who are they? What do they like? How will we reach them? Much of this work is done together with the client. Because who is better positioned to tell us about what needs doing than him or her?

Think

Tänka

With the strategy in place, we move from understanding to idea. This is the stage where every available creative force is let loose. How will it all look? What should we do? What should we say? How will we say it so that it’s interesting? Ideas are drawn up, rejected, reinterpreted, abandoned, and new ones emerge. Finally one or two interesting ideas remain, which we present to the client.

Create

Skapa

We rough out what we have thought up in the previous phases. Navigation and structure become wireframes and a site map, if the job is a website. Ideas and thoughts are interpreted into sketches or, for instance, moodboards if we’re doing a campaign. Any project partners, producers and others are called in and briefed on the project.

Produce

Producera

The rough sketches from earlier phases are now developed into reality. We take what is hopefully the world’s best idea, and try to turn it into the world’s best website. Or campaign. Or whatever it is we’re doing.

Launch

Lansera

D-Day. The job is launched and our employees, clients and basically everyone involved exchanges either slaps on the back or knuckle sandwiches. Hopefully, and if the process has been followed, it’s slaps on the back and happy shouts.

Measure

Mäta

Follow-up. What’s happening? How is it panning out? Is the website up to scratch? Is the campaign working? Are we reaching the right people? After every campaign there are thousands of questions. Ideally you get answers to all of them. Through quantitative and/or qualitative evaluation we can usually get answers to many. And now we can fine-tune the tactics or sit back in satisfaction.

Secure

Säkra

This isn’t a stage in the process, but something we do ongoing – between every stage. For instance, after Know we secure the brief with the client. After Think we secure the ideas with the client and the working group, ahead of the next phase in the job. After Create we secure the sketches with everyone involved. After Produce we secure, proofread and check everything. And so on, throughout the entire process. This provides security for the client, who knows what is happening at any given moment, as well as for the working group who can feel certain they are on the right track.
